Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)

Adult Jiu-Jitsu Classes

Training the Mind and the Body

BJJ Program Overview: Precision Academy’s Brazilian Jiu-jitsu program is designed to teach core techniques that every Jiu-Jitsu practitioner should know.

Through our BJJ program, students will:

  • Learn how to properly defend themselves in a self-defense situation.

  • Be able to improve their overall JiuJitsu knowledge, increase body movement and awareness.

  • Receive an introduction into more advance JiuJitsu techniques.

  • Gain a deeper understanding and become more proficient in BOTH self-defense JiuJitsu and sport JiuJitsu.

Students will need to have a white colored JiuJitsu Gi in order to participate in our classes. One may be borrowed for a limited time from Precision Academy, purchased from Precision Academy, or the student may supply his or her own.

Note: A JiuJitsu Gi differs from the common “karate” Gi in a number of ways, including design and durability of material. It is important that students purchase authentic JiuJitsu Gi’s.

Jiu-Jitsu (NoGi)

Adult Jiu-Jitsu Classes

Training the Mind and the Body

Program Overview: Students in our No-Gi classes will have the opportunity to learn the same modern Jiu Jitsu being taught in the Gi program but will learn how to adapt them to no-gi situations.

Students will need to wear athletic shorts and/or leggings with a rash guard/tight fitting shirt in order to participate in our No-Gi classes. While training on the mats, it is important that students do not wear clothing with buttons, zippers, or other metal protrusions, as these items can potentially cause harm to oneself and/or their training partners. Athletic shorts with pockets are not allowed due to the risk of injury to oneself or training partners as fingers, wrists, toes, and ankles may get caught inside when training and sparring.

Rash guards and fight shorts can be purchased at Precision Academy or the student may supply his or her own.
